Dogs can eat durian, but they shouldn’t.
Jackfruit seeds are dangerous to dogs
The most dangerous parts of jackfruit are the seeds! They are large, hard, and very difficult to chew, so your dog can hurt its teeth and gums.
There’s also a risk of choking, just like with all hard seeds.
On top of that, jackfruit seeds have a gooey coating that can irritate your dog’s stomach. And they are toxic!
Jackfruit seeds contain antinutritional compounds such as tannins, trypsin inhibitors, and lectins, including jacalin. These compounds mess with nutrient absorption and digestion. So, if your dog eats a lot of jackfruit seeds, they may experience gastrointestinal upset.
Tannins can hamper digestive enzymes, while trypsin inhibitors can interfere with protein digestion. That’s definitely not good for dogs!
